What is Warmachine? From the website:

Loved G.I. Joes as a kid? Miss the days of battling Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization trying to rule the world? Looking to score some missing pieces to your current Joe Collection? Hoping to meet-up with some friends who share your passion?

Jay's CD & Hobby is hosting the first All Iowa G.I. Joe Collectors Meet-up this November 13th, 2011. Catch some nostalgia, maybe a missing piece or two & meet fellow collectors from across the state. But most importantly, you'll have to chance to reconnect with action figure you loved as a kid!

There's a little bit for everyone. Check out all that's going on Sunday!

Custom Contest
There will be two different categories: 3 & 3/4 figures and 3 &3/4 Vehicle/Playset. Each must use at least 50% existing Joe parts. Entries will be limited to 2 customs per person. Entries must be submitted prior to 12:00 pm on the day of the meet-up. The winner will be announced at 4pm that day by our special guest judge. Must be present to win.

Prizes will be awarded to 1st place in both categories.

Kids Coloring Contest
Using coloring books from the 1980's ARAH series, our coloring contest will be something your kids are going to love! Children ages 4 to 12 are eligible. Prizes will be awarded to both 1st and 2nd place.

Buy/Sell/Trade Tables
We are opening up several tables for buying, selling and trading. Tables are being made available for purchase at $25 each, limit 2 per person/household. Sign up for the Iowa G.I. Joe Collectors' email list and be entered in a drawing for some excellent G.I. Joe stuff! Ron Wagner - We are very pleased to announce that accomplished Marvel/IDW comic artist/Illustrator Ron Wagner will be joining us. Ron has been making his living as an artist for over twenty years. He is a graduate of The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, New Jersey. He has worked for major comic book companies such as Marvel Comics, D.C. Comics, Dark Horse and Image. He has drawn titles that include Batman, Superman, G.I. Joe, Punisher, Daredevil, and The Flash. Ron will be signing and doing sketches through out the meet-up.

Gary "Gyre-Viper" Head - We are also very excited to have an up & coming presence in the Joe collector community in the person of Gary Head. Gary has an extensive knowledge of Joe history as well as a wonderful collection of preproduction figures. Gary will be sharing a little bit of everything with us and giving us a glimpse of some rare Joe finds!

Who Are YOU Going to Call?
Ghostbusters are Back... Kinda...

Starting October 13, and once every Thursday in October, the original Ghostbusters film will be released to select theaters nation-wide. It's reported that only 500 theaters will get it  and only one show will be shown each of the three nights.

Fans in the greater Des Moines area will get to see it on October 13, 20 and 27 at the Century 20 Jordan Creek theater at 7:30pm. Tickets are available now.

For the rest of the country, we recommend checking with your local theaters, call or go online to moviephone or fandango.

Tired of battling it out with just one opponent? Come on in Sunday, October 9th for a HeroClix Battle Royal!

Prizes will come from the Superman LE prize pool. As soon as 4 players sign up, a game will begin. You can come and go as you please (last game to start at 4:45).  Before each game begins, player 1 will draw a poker chip out of a hat. Red chip means LE figure, Blue chip will be 1 object and one map.

Looking for a new way to play Yu-Gi-Oh!? Come on in to Jay's CD & Hobby to play the ONLY Duel Terminal in Iowa! What is a Duel Terminal you may ask? Well...

The Duel Terminal itself looks like a traditional arcade machine, and has a variety of game modes, using cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game. Players can either use a Deck chosen by the system, or the Duelist can use his/her own cards, provided they have  "Duel Terminal"  where the Edition should be. These cards are recognized by the built-in card scanner, allowing the player to use the card in the game. "Duel Terminal Edition" cards are only available from "Duel Terminals". The game itself is priced at $1 and you get one card per play.

Just in is the Dungeons & Dragon Master Set 3: Battle for the Underdark. Included are 10 figures, 50 interlocking terrain pieces, marking pieces, dice, and rulebook. We also have the latest collection expansion sets where you can get 5-7 figures to grow your army!

Just in! An all new multi-army miniatures game!

The year is 37 BCE. The Roman Empire, Egyptian Imperium, and the Han Dynasty battle for control of a magically ravaged world using legions of men and monsters, warriors and sorceresses, undead and gods. In the Arcane Legions game, players arrange and rearrange figures on unique formations bases to change tactics on the fly. Movement and combat is fast and deadly, using an abstracted movement system and a simple dice-off mechanic that will have you sending hundreds of figures to their deaths in under two hours!
